OUTREACH
FALL Aerial Arts
FALL Aerial Arts, FALL’s aerial training program, began in 2012 through our partnership with abrasiveMedia. We joined with other respected aerialists from New Altitude, Aerial Fabricators, and Suspended Gravity to create a fully comprehensive aerial training program with an intentional focus on developing artistry and performance quality in a fun, safe, inclusive environment. The program aims to create a culture of openness and collaboration, inviting people of all shapes, sizes, ages, abilities, and backgrounds to experience the satisfaction and challenge of aerial arts. All members of FALL Aerial Arts teaching staff work as professional performers and have multiple years of teaching experience, and we offer additional performance and training opportunities to students throughout the year.
The Playground Project
2019 also launched our new outreach program, The Playground Project, a site-specific choreographic project created and performed on a school playground. This project includes multiple opportunities for us to interact with students and the surrounding community, first through creative writing workshops with students, then open and interactive rehearsals, and finally with a performance that celebrates play, community, and all that is unique to that neighborhood. The 2019 Playground Project premiered at Stratton Elementary in April and was made possible through a Tennessee THRIVE grant.
