Skyler began her training with the School of Nashville Ballet before being accepted into the school’s Professional Training Division in 2014. At age 17, Skyler was hired in Nashville Ballet’s second company where she was featured in numerous classical and contemporary works including La Sylphide, Robert Colby Damon’s Heart, and Nashville’s Nutcracker. Her most coveted role was in Gina Patterson’s 72 Steps which was a commission from the League of Women’s Voters TN in celebration of the 19th Amendment. Her latest work as both a dancer and choreographer was performed at Oz Arts as part of Kindling Arts Festival. Skyler also had the opportunity to dance with Shackled Feet DANCE alongside the Emmy nominated composer Dave Ragland in Steal Away at Oz Arts. Skyler will also be graduating with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a minor in Chemistry from Belmont University and uses her academics as a catalyst to creating and spreading art through the lens of social justice and embodied empowerment.
